Sepoy Khudadad, 129th Duke of Connaught's Own Baluchis. A hero of the Indian Army, which has fulfilled and even surpassed the highest anticipations of its skill and bravery. At Hollebeke, on October 31, 1914, the British officer in charge of the guns was wounded, and one gun put out of action. Sepoy Khudadad, however, although wounded himself, continued working his gun until his five comrades were killed.

Sepoy Khudadad was the first sub-continental soldier to get the Victoria Cross.
