Subject: RE: [sikhyouth] Sanskrit to be made compulsory

and two days ago the story below forwarded with commentary of Sikh Media Advisory at the end.

Someone wants to ensure that your grandkids will be saying jai hind and learning sanskrit.

This and a thousand other blatant realities, make you wonder about the utter stupidity of people who call themselves Sikh and say that sikhi is prospering in India. Shame on these gutless suave buffoons who
claim Sikhi as if it is their "caste".

Jai Hind to be cops' greeting

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

AMRITSAR, DEC 18: The cops at various police stations
in Amritsar have been instructed to say Jai Hind in
place of namaskar and Sat Sri Akal while answering a
telephone. The orders, which have been issued by
higher officials, are being strictly observed at all
police stations. Some police stations which are still
following the traditional greetings on telephone are
Police Station D Division, E Division and Sultanwind
police station.
According to sources, the orders are meant to be
observed very strictly and action would be taken against defaulters.
The cops might take time to adjust to the new orders
as they have been using the traditional greetings for
quite a long time now. Mainly, the munshis at all
police stations are troubled over this change as they
do most of the talking on the phone. Commenting on the
change, SSP P.P.S. Sidhu said there was no particular
reason for bringing about this change. This is just to
convey the good wishes. ``There is no hard and fast
rule or reason for introducing this change,'' he
added.

** Jai Hind means "Victory to Hindustan (India) - exactly why a
caller would need to be reminded of a victory is anybody's guess.
Exactly what victory are they referring to is another cause for concern.
Amritsar by the > way is the city which Sikhs hold as special as this is where the
Akal Takhat and Harmindhar Sahib (Golden Temple) are located as well as it
has considerable historical signifigance to the Sikhs. Look for the RSS
to have had a hand in this change.
